About Us

Welcome to Wayside, it was purchased by ourselves (Lynn and Steven Johns) in 2004. We fell in love with it immediately. It had so much potential and character. The large and small barn were literally derelict. We obtained planning permission in 2006 and commenced renovations immediately. We won't bore you with the details but needless to say it has been a long hard learning curve. We have done the majority of the work ourselves, we have tried to give the building the respect and consideration that it deserves, and hopefully we have succeeded, leaving many of the original features. Every room is different and has its individual character. The bedrooms are large with high beam ceilings with oak window seats. The Annexe is a lovely building separate from the barn, but attached to the actual farmhouse itself, with a totally separate entrance.

All our food is locally sourced and freshly made. We recycle all of our plastic bottles, cans, glass, cardboard and paper. Any food waste goes into our wormery which generates liquid fertiliser and compost which we then utilise on our garden. In the future we hope to grow our own vegetables and herbs.

We will endeavour to make your stay with us an enjoyable one, and we hope you will appreciate this beautiful part of the county and what it has to offer.
